I love a good Baronial property, especially one that has been maintained in a way that keeps the original spirit of the property in mind. The Gart is a property that you will either love or hate.

Property

From the outside it is spectacular I doubt anyone would deny that. Positioned to the East of Callander and on the bank of the Tieth, it is set in 12 acres of grounds. Enough to keep it private, not too much to manage. A short walk away from Callander and providing easy access to the A84.

It was originally built around the 1830s but a fire resulted in the early 1900s which led to it being largely rebuilt and extended to what it is today.

Current Owners

The property was purchased in 2016 by Artist and designer couple Stuart and Nikki Miller. They have certainly made an impression on the property with their styling of the interior.

Quirky

Like I say, you will either love it or hate it. Personally, I am on the hate side. Perhaps hate is too strong, I don’t like what they have done with it. Some examples are below.

Still an amazing property though. Probably wouldn’t take too much to ‘calm’ it back down and return it to a more appropriate style for the time it was built whilst still keeping it modern. At £2.1m it is of course for that small percentage of buyers with deep enough pockets.

The property is currently on the market with Savills, you can find the listing here. At the time of this post, it was said to be under offer.
