This property has been on the market for a while now. Not really surprising though. Houses in the region of £7.5m for Aberdeen are not that common. Dalhebity House is an exceptional example of opulence. Whilst there is very little to dislike about the property the reality is that there are not many buyers in the market for a property at this price in that area. There are very few properties in Scotland that reach this level of value.
Formerly the property that stood on the grounds was the stately home and birthplace of Diana, Princess of Wales's Grandmother, Ruth Sylvia Gill. She lived in the property with her mother Ruth Gill and father, Colonel William Smith Gill. He was a Scottish landowner. Ruth then married Edmund Burke Rocher and became Baroness Fermoy, a confidante of the Queen Mother.
The current Dalhebity House was built by Stuart Milne. You may be familiar with the name, he was Chairman of Aberdeen Football Club and founder of house builder Stewart Milne Homes. Stuart and his family lived in the original Dalhebity House since 1981. It wasn't until 28 years later the new Dalhebity House was built in 2009.
Dalhebity House is in the Bieldside area, to the West of Aberdeen City Centre. It is considered to be one of the wealthiest areas of Scotland. The Postcode is claimed to have the most millionaires outside of London.
Having grown up not far from Aberdeen I personally love the area even if that is a bit biased. But, the reality is someone buying this property will likely have some connection to the area. You don't live in Aberdeen for the weather that is for sure! Well not unless you like wet and cold.
Probably easier to list what you don't get, this really is a property offering everything. Some of the highlights.
The images below speak for themselves. No expense was spared during the build and even though it has been nearly 14 years since it was built, the quality is still very obvious.
The property has been on market since May 2022. The selling agents are Savills and you can see the sale details here whilst it is still available.
